Getting new injectors.... pricing question

I'm about to get new injectors to compensate the 19% pulley I am running, and wanted to find out what you all thought about pricing on such. What injectors at what price?

I may be leaning towards the 400cc's that M7 offer because of the following quote they have on their site:

We tested 440cc, 420cc, and 400cc, and found that 400cc gave us the performance gains we wanted, while maintaining a smooth idle and superb driveability.

http://www.m7tuning.com/products/400ccinjectors.htm
How accurate is that? I know jlm stated he has 440cc's, and do those give the car a rough idle? Heck, the idle already is pretty rough with a rattling UUC Motorwerks throwout bearing against their clutch and flywheel paired with the motor mounts I had that will be going back in the car!

Are 400's even that much of a difference over the stock 340's for a pulley-ed car, especially the 19%? Knowing that the ECU will automatically adjust duty cycle, are 440's REALLY that rough?

What brand of 440's are there, and what's the pricing look like? What's it cost to have the factory's remanufactured to produce 400 or 440cc - or can the factory 340's BE remanufactured to go up that high?

EDIT: I just checked in with my distributor, and my A'PEXi S-AFC II Select will be in stock at their location any time now. I will be using this to do air / fuel correction using a wideband O2 sensor on a dyno.

Lots of questions, not a lot of time - I was supposed to have these ordered this week and I got busy planning the move from our one shop to TWO others by the 15th.... ugh, and then there's school, from which I'm supposed to graduate in May---enough talk about all the other junk, what about these injectors?!?

I seriously recommend against running larger injectors WITHOUT a proper ECU tune for them. That said, the 400cc are more than enough because GIAC uses 380cc for the 19% and they're enough.

whoops.... failed to mention one point:

I will be using the A'PEXi S-AFC II Select that I have been discussing on another thread. My apologies for thinking that everyone should have known that or something.

That being said, I offer the following two points, PLEASE explain any lack of intelligence in my thought process - just do it appropriately!

(from my PM to minihune while discussing the same suggestion about the GIAC and 380cc injectors)

Here are my issues with the Helix 380cc's and the GIAC:
  • I am active on the thread about the A'PEXi S-AFC, and would prefer to do this over the GIAC because the S-AFC is re-tunable: if I do something ELSE to the motor, I can go back and play with the A/F settings instead of simply leaving the "chipped" GIAC do the calculations, or not. I know the GIAC is more than a "chipped" ECU, but without the availability of tuning, I won't know what I can and cannot achieve on the dyno and on the track.
  • The 380cc's don't seem like much of an upgrade. I hear what people are doing and how they love the response, but all the 380's are doing is allowing the duty cycle that once sent the 340's at and over 100% to remain a little lower - think about this fact: the MCS runs at 80% and up duty with 340cc injectors under full load, and the 19% will send that number WAY up. 380cc just doesn't seem like a lot to me, with the goal of getting near 300fwhp figures!

That makes sense. If you're looking to get near 300whp, you definitely will need more fuel.

use the Giac to set the fuel and ignition timing and rev limit according to their testing; then use the 440 RC injectors and the Apex'i to fine tune fuel.

i don't have rough idle. 440 is more than enough headroom, but, hey, I'm not done yet.

That was my next question, if the GIAC can be used in coordination with the A'PEXi - it should, but then again, the MINI should have come with an LSD! The A'PEXi simply bypasses ECU wires, and would overrule anything the GIAC would attempt to send through it. Would this cause the GIAC any problems? Probably not, considering it doesn't cause the stock ECU any....

Injectors ~ $400
A'PEXi S-AFC II Select ~ $300
GIAC ~ $385

of course, those are all RETAIL prices....
