Line boring Camshaft bearing journals

Does anyone know a good machine shop that could line bore my cylinder head cam bearing journals? Oil pump **** the bed and starved my top end, metal everywhere, engine toast, just trying to salvage the cylinder head. had it completely reworked two years ago, ported/flowed the whole works, now the cam journals are all marred up. Would like to save it if I can

Since there are no bearings on the cam journals, any line boring would leave the journal diameter larger than stock. Then, where do you find cams to fit? I also had some scored cam journals after getting coolant in the oil, and the head was a "Thumper Special". Bit the bullet and scrapped the head. Maybe material can be added to the journals and re-bored to OEM dimensions, but at what cost?

Contact Lorenzo at RPM Power Engine Management in Vancouver B.C. Maybe he can help.

I was thinking if you shaved a couple thousands off the cam bearing caps and rebored they would be the correct diameter, the cam would only sit a thousandth or so lower in the head that should not be an issue due to the hydraulic cam adjusters. There are guys that do motorcycle heads like this, but I have not found anyone to do a automobile head yet.

INCORRECT thought !

Done by a competent machinist, the cam bore can be bored / honed...WITHOUT moving the center line OR changing the bore diameter.
