Valeo Clutch Noise Question......

I have to pull the drivetrain out of my '06 R52 to replace a bad transmission...has a gear clash going into 4th gear from either direction. I have to replace the clutch again, the one I put in didn't last 2,000 miles....Maybe I got a defective clutch, I don't know....I have not driven the car long enough or hard enough for this clutch to be worn out, but, it is what it is

I'm considering a Valeo single stage flywheel clutch kit this time.....I have not pulled the trigger yet for a couple reasons....

1) The $300+ price tag....
2) I have heard or read that if I went to this single stage flywheel kit, I will get excessive noise transferred to the car via the drivetrain when idling in neutral, or maybe even driving

Any truth to the "more noise" issue with these clutch kits?

Bryan

I have valeo a s smf installed about 2k miles ago. I don’t experience any of the noise you mentioned. I only get a light thud when slightly dumping the clutch ,like it grabs violently. Pedal is softer too.

OK, thanks....I understand about the softer pedal feel.... I have 5 other cars here out of the 9 that we own, all of those 5 have manual transmissions, each car or truck has a different pedal feel....

I just don't want to have to do this job again,...this little R52 is going to just be a reliable daily driver...(I hope)
