This part may come from my SC, but I'm not sure. It could be from somewhere else entirely. I don't remember seeing it at all in the process of taking the SC (or anything else) apart.

It is a small cylinder, about an inch long. Does anyone recognize it?

 

I am not sure, but could it be the valve cover bolt dowel?

 

I do not know, but I did take the valve cover off recently. What does the valve cover bolt dowel do/where does it go?

 

it is like an insert/big washer for the bolt so the cover gasket doesn't get super squished when you bolt it down. But looking at this diagram, I am not sure it is https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_3087

I performed supercharger oil service not too long ago, but this part does not come to mind...
