Couple of questions regarding the Dinan Intake. First, any idea why such a straight-forward modification is only available from the dealer? Surely this is something the home enthusiast could install. The Dinan website also states that the Intake requires the stage 2 or 3 Software Upgrade. Is this to achieve the gains they advertise ?

 

Huh? I have a Dinan CAI on my car. I did not get it from a Mini dealer

 

If not from the MINI dealer then where did you get it? I don't think Dinan sells direct.

 

I don't see anything that says the software upgrade is required. It says that, "when combined with the ... it gives a ..." but not that it MUST be used with the software. http://dinancars.com/Mini.asp?Series...is=40&Model=91

 

Check with RSpeed- he had a couple of them a while back, and either may still have one available, or may be able to obtain one for you.
