What pistons and rods to use for bottom end rebuild?

Rebuilding the engine from the bottom end up. Building the engine good for 400bhp+.

Looking for something similar to this

What pistons and rods would you recommend MAHLE Motorsport, Supertech, Carrillo etc...?

For that kind of power you'll need to get some kind of Cylinder Support System, i.e., https://cylindersupportsystem.com Then for piston CR go with 9.5:1 maximum --- any more and even a CSS will be stressed. Bigger turbo will be req'd and happy with the lower CR.

I've been happy with my CP / Carrillo set, but I'm sure the others are comparable.

That seems a better cost solution than using Darton Sleeves for the power I am aiming for.

So the brands of forged pistons and rods doesn't matter and all will hold up well.

What sort of power bhp and boost psi are you running?

I'm not familiar with Darton's system. Here's a couple pics of my blown engine and my current engine. Note the copper "o-rings" on each cylinder --- helps sealing. Best brand of rod / piston is debatable --- we all have our favorites. I chose one of the more popular. Last chart was 386WHP (not BHP), 353ft-lbs torque, and 30PSI boost --- all on a Mustang dyno. ARP studs are also highly recommended with 300+WHP.

I have DP pistons at 8.5 compression ratio and ZRP rods

low compression pistons will help staying reliable

planning to go over 400HP
