So randomly my 2013 jcw r56 n18 started doing a turbo chatter/whine? I thought it was the DV but turns out the last guy put on a forge aftermarket one. What are the chances it went bad?

I've owned it for a year and never made this sound before about a week ago. Happens when you let off the gas. All the tubes and connections look good and tight. (That's what she said) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I hope it's not my turbo going...

 

It almost sounds like a turbo flutter, which means the DV isn't opening. I would check all the connections on the DV to see if anything is unplugged on it.

 

Nothing unplugged, I've checked and rechecked.
just ordered a rebuilt kit for the Forge DV.
I really hope that's it

 

Rebuilt the Forge DV and everythinget is fixed.
I dont think my jcw has driven this amazing...ever
sounds better, feels better, more power, smoother shifting 👍👍👍👍👍👍

 

Any pics? Is that a replacement kit for the factory DV?

 

The Forge valves are replacement for the stock valves, and are pneumatically actuated.
