Blackstone Oil Analysis, anyone?

Has anyone done an oil analysis for a MCS yet? Especially the one with pulley upgrade...It would be something interesting to find out...

I do Blackstone!

Mjunkie, I know this a old thread but I was doing a search to see if this was ever discussed. I use Blackstone Labs and feel it is the best $20 one could spend if they are truely concerned about what it going on in their engine.
I use them currently for my Diesel's oil.

If anyone would like some additional info on Blackstone and what they offer, this is their link.

I had a concern about a diesel fuel additive I was using and they checked for my issues free of charge. They are a great company.

Oil analysis is one of those things you either believe in or don't - kind of like changing the oil and filter before the counter says to do it. Personally, I would do an analysis at around 7,500 miles and then again at around 15,000 miles. I would look for no further metal particles in the analysis at the 15,000 mile point. If the engine is throwing off metal particles at the 15,000 mile point, I would check again at the 22,500 mile point. Still throwing off metal, I would seriously consider trading/selling the car, cause the engine is going to have issues in the future.

That is very true.

I also look at other areas such as silica levels since I have CAI on my diesel, potassium and sodium levels for possible head gasket leaks, and fuel levels for bad injuector(s). Also SUS viscosity at 210F properties to make sure the oil is still doing its job.

It is all good info and they keep the findings from your other analysis prefromed this way you can watch the trends.
