engine swap

Need help completing my Frankenstein project. I have a 2007 cooper s that I transplanted an engine and ECU from a 2011 cooper s. I changed ECU since the wiring harness did not match the 07's ECU.
Engine will turn over but no fire. I have the 2011 donor car. What else do I need to transplant.
I'm thinking at least immobiliser and key receptor with push button start.

Yes you would need at least the DME CAS and Key. Do you have any software and obd2 to usb/network adapters. You need something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-INPA-Edi...38.m2548.l4275

You can get ISTA D/P also and check that the wiring diagrams are the same for your connectors to the CAS DME and if you want the DSC to work. Mite take some time.

What happened to your N14?

I bought the car with the motor partially dismantled.
it had a water pump failure and was run until it didn't no more. Thought of rebuilding motor but some parts are missing hence the motor from a salvage 2011.
Don't really have the means to do any reprogramming. In the process now of finding a 2007- 10 salvage car to get motor for the 07 and the body parts for the 2011 then the motor can go back to the 2011 then I'll have two minis.
it just seems easier to swap motors than electronics.
