Thats JCW Pro exhaust looks awesome on the F56 JCW, well done. Thanks for the side by side. I like how the new JCW factory exhaust has a separate tip.

More pics here of the full kit :

Yea, did the dealership split one up, last time we tried to order it by itself , it was blocked by MINI.

G3 Automotive in Raleigh N.C. Chris Gerber did the work and it was about $700 less than the mini dealer wanted for it.

Anybody do anything with their old exhaust, short of just throwing it away?

I sold it to a kid at the dealership for his wife's Cooper S for $60. Apparently it's louder than the cooper S's exhaust and they like it a lot.

Left with the installer of my JCW PRO exhaust to do whatever with it. It looked almost new, but the market for it is almost non-existant as far as I could tell.

If anyone with a JCW swapping to the pro exhaust is near Atlanta, GA, I would gladly pay them a little bit for their exhaust. Just let me know!

Ok I am sorry for asking a stupid question but when everybody refers to this as a "JCW Pro Exhaust".......is this the Bluetooth exhaust that we're talking about?

Is the original JCW exhaust different from the MCS ?
I mean can I offer mine to MCS owners or just the exhaust tips are different?

Most likely they are the same as the JCW PRO exhaust fits both. Here is a link to a site with some information about it. But, there is no tune required as far as I know.

The jcw exhaust is not the same as the mcs exhaust; the the tube diameter is larger, and I am interested in getting one, see the downpipe on the the two cars are the same, I believe 76 mm, and both exhaust use a 76 mm connection, while jcw stays 76 mm, the mcs shrinks to 64 mm. And yes, this really only has the effect of making the exhaust sound better.

As you stated, it's a direct bolt on between the two cars. I gave mine to a mechanic at the mini dealership to put on his wifes S after I bought the AWE tuning exhaust. Apparently it is louder than the S exhaust. The JCW stock exhaust diameter starts at 2.75", but does get flattened out to 2.5" at the crossmember.

I believe the cooper S is at 2.25" so there may be a slight bump in power as well if switching exhausts.

You're completely right, I had my mm/inch conversion wrong inch my head, either way, JCW exhaust diameter > MCS exhaust, which is why I would love to pick one up especially if people are just throwing them away.

So just to clarify. If I'm looking for an after market exhaust tip. What size should I be looking into? 2.5 or 2.75? I just need some plain black once and ecstuning is offering some at a decent price. Just want to make sure of the fit

Have to agree to disagree with you on effect of exhaust. I am the ecstatic owner of a 12 day old 2016 Mini S with the tuner kit. When building my car, I had intended to add the JCW sports exhaust for the tone. Forgot to do so, A few weeks before my car came in, I was talking to the Service Advisors at the dealership and asked how much to install a JCW sports exhaust. In unison, they both said:

"You don't want the Sports Exhaust. You want the Tuner Kit. It's got the JCW adjustable exhaust with a bluetooth remote....AND AN ECU TUNING THAT ADDS 30 HP TO YOUR CAR."

My S now has as much horsepower as the previous gen JcW and my choice between resonably quiet exhaust ... or with a double-click of my blue tooth remote, all the pops and crackles of a track car. And the 30 hp boost isn't limited to the opened exhaust. It's there with the quiet mode as well.

JCW Pro exhaust or not

So this is where I see the issue with the pro exhaust. Running non track you only are using one exhaust port and miss out on the harmonic resonance of the dual ported exhaust you get with the MCS exhaust.
I actually like the sound of the MCS exhaust, want to keep my warrantee and want the tune from the kit. Hmmm wish they would give us more configuration options...lol mini not providing more configuration options...

Heard some guys with factory JCW purchased jcw pro exhaust for the Bluetooth ability/awesomeness. They in turn did not need the tune since they are already jcw tuned. The code and ability to tune for that exhaust may be accessible if you find the right people. Let's say an independent shop that's able to program and use bmw software/hardware. So I've heard.
