Do I need to replace my belt tensioner?

I have an 07 Sidewalk Cabrio that I'm getting ready to mod. I've already put on the CAI and I have an Alta 17% pulley and new belt. My question is should I replace the Belt Tensioner while adding the pulley? The car has 66,000 miles and is in great shape. Thanks in advance.

Tough one to answer - if it's not broke, don't fix it, but... mine went away (suddenly) at 113,000 - kind of a pain to replace, but not impossible. If you're raising the motor to replace the pulley, that would be the ideal time.

Does it squeak or make any noises. Can you see any damage on the spring or the strut , it not it should be fine. It you change the belt spin the pulley by hand and see it the bearing feels smooth.

I would check the rubber bushings on the shock as they are the biggest reason the tensioners fail. We have our WMW delrin replacement bushings that are the best option to replace when they do fail. Otherwise don't worry about it.
