Get the Whalen and design your own engraving. They can do just about anything you could come up with.

You can have Whalen mill any design on there shift *****. Just find some art work of a skull and crossbones that you like and that is not copyrighted and send it to them. I don't think the upcharge is that much extra and it would be worth it.

I think what the original poster wanted was a skull shift ****, not a shift **** with a skull engraved on the top of it. Slightly different.

Other than that I have nothing constructive to add.

Lets see the numbers and graphs

Seriously, do you think it is better than stock? Why? I have looked at the Whalen (not in person) and just wonder if it is worth the $$ or not?

I like the stock but if it is better I'm up for spending $$$$

For starters, the Whalen is the really only truly unique mod you can do to your MINI. Nothing is cooler than a customed engraved ****... nothing.

Size wise, its a tad smaller than the stock ****, giving you a better "motoring grip."

Third, it weighs a heck of a lot more than the stock know, which makes it "feel" like the shifter goes into the gates better. It might not, but I think it does. And I've switched back and forth between stock to see if I notice a difference, and I certainly do.

Is it pricey? You bet. But, as one man's opinion, its worth every penny.

GREAT,

One more question... do you buy them direct or from one of the sponsors on NAM??

I thought Whalen was a NAM sponsor but apparently not. . . .

Considering the outstanding customer referrals and testimonials found here, it might be great for Whalen to support the site.

Best most worthwhile expensive shift **** I ever bought!

My stock **** cracked and I didn't like the feel of the crack in my hand. (so to speak)

Performance-wise, I don't believe there is a change. Some people think it shifts better, but on my MC, the tranny shifts like crap anyhow, so what can a **** do. This is simply a cosmetic change to the car.

Is it true that the stock MCS shift **** just pulls off? I think I read somewhere to brace yourself, open the sunroof if you have one and pull straight up... That it?

Yes, that's my custom Lithium atom Whalen.

It was -25 degrees F outside, and I brought the **** into the warm humid house and took some photos.

A NAM member PMd me asking if he could order a Trippy Lithium-special from Doug, so there might be two Atom-mobiles shifting around in the future.

For the record, ANYONE can call up Doug and get a Lithium design Whalen.

Doug did all the work, I just sent him sketches of the design.
