I'm running it catless. I use a Vibrant O2 simulator, that has adjustable gas flow inserts for picky rear O2 sensors. 8 months and no CEL. As others have said, removing the cat adds some noise and some stink. A good catback will limit the Db level. Mine is excessive at WOT using the old style Magnaflow system.
I have a custom made race exhaust, and it is brutally loud at WOT, but not a whole bunch of drone, but I haven't pulled the trigger on the headers yet, I am pretty much made up on the OBX, but I want to run full catless, just for the gains. Thanks for the feedback, and I like the Vibrant O2, but there is another on that is just a 90 degree elbow, that I have yet to see any feedback on. Do you know the Db level? Right now mine is around 97Db's at WOT, on stock headers

A high-flow catalytic converter isn't going to hurt performance much, if at all. I deleted mine because NY doesn't have tailpipe emissions testing, I know people for visual inspections, and removing the cat eliminated the possibility of it going bad...ever.

Chucking the cat will undoubtedly make your car extra loud. If you insist on it, maybe have a resonator or two welded into the exhaust.

I always wondered, what if you could Rotate the SC towards you (if you were standing in front of the car) and make the IC more of a front mount, just enough to get it off the top of the engine...

Buy a water meth kit, and mount a small nozzle pre-IC. Heatsoak will be severely lessened. Could even go pre-blower if you were really worried. Use the water/meth to absorb the heat as it's made. Should also keep the blower cooler as well.
