Venair Induction Hose W/ Alta CAI

I initially bought my Alta CAI without the hose feeling that it wasn't worth the extra $130. Came across this Venair hose which looks equivalent but only costs $69.

To those who have tried the intake with and without the hose, is it worth buying it for that price if I don't already have it? I know Alta claims it adds a few hp, and I'd imagine it might be a tiny bit louder, but I suspect this one of those parts that falls under the category of engine bay dress up more than anything else? I guess its also worth asking if anybody has had any experience with Venair and had anything to share regarding fitment and quality. My other mods are a pulley and catback if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

From: Queens, NY, spend a lot of time in Central NY
It will work but needs to be trimmed. I did this on my MINI (because I'm cheap)
I had to trim about 1/2 inch off where it mounts to the airbox and was a bit tough getting it on but it was doable.
It was easy to trim with my very sharp Buck knife.
