I'd recommend checking that hose every now and then even if there are no symptoms. Having it disconnected means the car is running lean under boost. Could burn a valve.

USCooper - I cannot thank you enough. Such a simple fix, and such great results!

Disconnected FPR vacuum/boost hose was my issue as well - took one minute to push it back on and sure enough the engine is a little rocket again with linear power output. Thank you all!

If you haven't already, maybe change out the factory line with a silicon boost hose and zip-tie both ends to prevent any future issues. Cheers!

I literally just joined this forum all the way from Australia to say thank you to UScooper for this fix. I've been struggling with finding this hesitation below 3000rpm also and a general lack of power after installing a 17% pulley, new coil pack, colder spark plugs and leads.

read this thread, went and checked my car and sure enough, my hose wasn't connected either. Struggled around with some zip ties and some boost line and got it back on. First drive it popped off almost straight away. Used a bigger zip tie and some more tension 2nd time around and the car now pulls strong and clean all the way through the rev range.

So, thank you again!

It really pleases me to see that my misery a few years ago eventually resulted in it saving others some time when dealing with the same problem Welcome to the forum.

Pay close attention to when this is happening as to where your accelerator is. I have not had this problem with MINIs, but have seen this problem with many other cars. It could be just a bad spot in the tps, or on the MINI itself, it would be the accelerator pedal. If you play a lot of video games you know the "dead" spot I am referring to. In a car, it will be where you usually have the accelerator at the most. Cruising speed.
