Aftermarket intercooler - Lower grill keep it or ditch it?

I have a new intercooler on the way and I was just curious who kept the lower grill and who just left it out? I got a really good deal on a used Alta. Pics would be welcome too. Thanks!

Wrong section since it's an R56, but I would keep it, it will prevent rocks and crap to hit it!
