15 percent pulley and tensioner hole?

Initially I had stock sc pulley and belt with one hole showing on tensioner. Had shop install an alta 15% pulley with recommended smaller belt and now no hole showing on the tensioner. No belt squeal... Any ideas and should I be concerned?

If there is no squeal I wouldn't be concerned. I'd have to check but I believe mt car is the same- barely one hole visible on the tensioner. I've been running like that for over a year with no problems.

Sounds like they used the wrong belt, I'd find a part number and make sure they got you the right one.

In doing more research, looks like they used the napa 060539 belt recommended by Alta but most people use a 060535 belt with a 15 percent pulley.

The belt they used should be fine....when it ages a bit and stretches, just listen for a squeel at high rpms...this is a sign of slippage...then an easy change...shoiluld be done yearly with a 17% or every 2 years with a 15% imo.
If you hold an oem belt, and aftermarket belt you can comparr, and see the diff...also the tight radius of the smaller pulley can cause s bit more wear.
Now go out and enjoy the new power!!

I had a 15% pulley installed with a 060539 belt which I was told was the right size. After installation, I could hear a ticking / clicking noise from the belt tensioner at idle. The 060539 belt is a tad too long and causes the spring in the tensioner to vibrate ever so slightly creating the aformentioned sound. The belt doesn't slip, but the ticking / clicking noise atr idle drives me nuts when the windows are down.

Installing a 060535 belt as soon as my belt tensioner tool comes in

Yeah I think I will take it back and have them do a 535 belt. One other thing I'm getting now is some pinging under acceleration and has been made worse after installing the pulley. I was getting some pinging before but it stopped after I replaced with JCW plugs a new coil pack and wires. I'm installing JCW injectors this weekend and checking fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter. I did get a P171 code(lean condition) a while back but it hasn't resurfaced so I must be on the edge of the threshold. Also now have JCW exhaust and JCW CAI so I'm sure I'm even more lean than before. Hoping the injectors do the trick.

alta 15% run 060535... did run the recommanded belt and blew off the little metal latch on the tentionner by tickling... then when the belt flew off (a day), the tentionner exploded on the crank pulley and... 360$ at bmw... plus a 25$ belt, 060535!

idler wheel is a good investment by same time, 70$ and no wisling from the wrong place.
