Drivetrain Clutch and flywheel suggestions please.
Clutch and flywheel suggestions please.
So i need a clutch and figured while i'm in there i might as well do a flywheel as well. But i would like to see what configurations people have went with. I would like to mention some of specs i'm looking for and hope someone can help me out.
"Its a daily driver but I want something thats going to last, but also hold up under hard driving"
1. Looking to spend under $1000 on both.
2. Single disc kevlar clutch plate.
I'm thinking stage 2 (Not organic,no pucks)
3. Converting to a single mass light weight flywheel.
4. A real good solid metal bearing.
Also does anyone have a combination of parts. ex SPEC clutch with ACT flywheel. Or any other combination of the sorts?
A quick review on your set up would be awesome too!
Thanks in advance.

the kevler clutch has a POTENTIALLY longer life, BUT if it gets contaminated with oil/grease, it is junk...also if glazed, it will not recover..also junk, not many success stories of them lasting very long in a daily driver...a slight oil leak...an over lubed TO bearing...
This is the reason this clutch material has not become more mainstream.
Good luck, and remember, the more grip or holding force a clutch is advertised as having, generally the faster the wear, and the harder the pedal.
So asking what mods/HP folks have will be useful, but many folk use the stock clutch to race....so it can hold plenty of TQ.
How long have you been running the kit, and which ACT clutch and flywheel package did you go with? I was looking at other post and some people mentioned they had issues. I just don't want to end up installing something thats going to turn into a bigger issue.
I installed it last June and put about 10k miles on it with out a problem. Only issue I've seen posted is the installer putting the clutch disc in backwards.
BM2-HDSS is the clutch kit and 600315 is the part number for the flywheel.

IMO stay away from kevlar discs. I have had the Stage 2 Clutchmasters kit and it barely lasted me 2,000 miles WITH a proper break-in period. I now have the CM Stage 4 six puck with no problems and no difference in clutch feel from the Stage 2 besides being slightly grabbier. I also have a lightweight Fidanza flywheel which does chatter.
