Drivetrain Help intake breather tube valve cover
Help intake breather tube valve cover
Sunday night and of course I'm trying to finish my project
Am replacing my valve cover, here's my problem: (so far--I haven't removed the valve cover yet--ha! hope that goes quick)
I have 2 questions, details are below:
1--can I make a new breather tube using high quality fuel line?
2--do I need fuel line for my new oil catch can line routing, or will the tubing alta sent work ok?
the breather tube from the valve cover (on the driver's side) is busted up pretty badly. I have an oil catch can which was hooked up per Alta instructions. there is a lot of oil crud in the breather tube, and it is totally cracked open.(it was connected inline with the pvc tubing and routed to the oil can....the other line from the oil can went to the air filter downtube.
I'm going to reinstall the occ with the alternative method below. except i'm not going to install the 2nd oil catch can.
so the breather tube (right side of engine, driver's side) will be routed back to its original location on the air filter downtube.
1--This drawing is I believe drphil's, I circled the breathing tube that i need to replace. Is it ok to just use a high grade fuel hose to replace the breather tube? At first I thought i needed to get a part, but i'm thinking i could make it
2--I read some people saying the alta tubing was too soft when used with this alternate occ routing. anyone have any experience with this?
I hope i can attach a pic to explain this better.
Anyways, I'm assuming that its ok to use high grade fuel hose to replace the breather hose, using the original plastic connector that goes to the airbox hose above the throttle body? (if i'm messing up the terminology please correct me).
