What are the chances of throwing a code?

I have had my ALTA CAI installed in my car for several months now, but haven't driven it even one mile after install because I had been shipped down south to work. So there in Pennsylvania sits my Mini. I had also ordered the Invidia Q300 Exhaust which also sits back at home.
I am planning on taking some vacation days to go home and install the exhaust and visit friends/family ect...

I have been reading posts about how happy people are with the exhaust and even CAI but just recently saw a few about throwing codes. Now I'm nervous about the install. Most of those with CEL problems have also upgraded downpipes...I didn't do this however. Will that help decrease my chances of a CEL?

What do you all think? Will I throw a code? What do I do if I do?

Thanks!

From what I've read, you'll get a code if you install an after market down pipe. Alta's Accessport has a map that will fix that though.

I do not have an aftermarket downpipe however. Just the ALTA CAI and the Invidia exhaust...

I have read that installing anthing AFTER the downpipe will not cause a code. Is this correct? Will just the CAI and exhaust throw a CEL?

You won't get a code unless you sneeze and leave a booger on the MAF sensor when installing the CAI.

CAI is already installed, so let's cross our fingers that didn't happen!

So is when installing a downpipe the only real need for worry here?

Yes, once the exhaust gets past the oxygen sensor, the computer doesn't know what's happening. The last oxygen sensor is in the down pipe, so if you have a cat back exhaust you should have no worries.

even if you get a CEL from exhaust you can still drive the car fine and it works just like normal.
