It's hard to keep them all straight and it would be nice to have one list.

A post from The Man, Randy Webb, over on his forum, says it all:

Cool! The only other one i was thinking of was Quicksilver. Where do you think that would fit on both lists?

    Ryan,

Do you know if Randy's list for sound levels is based on in-cabin or outside behind the car for the relative loudness comparison? For me, the lower cabin levels combined with sweet exterior sound plus performance sold me on NRP.

I would say his loudness listing is based upon in-car volumes. I know for sure the Magnaflow is major loud outside the car, whereas the Borla Race and Milltek are about the same exterior loudness, the Milltek is very much quieter inside.

---> d2: I'd say the Quicksilver is between the Borla Race and the UUC in terms of interior loud. Honestly, I do not like the sound of the Quicksilver inside the car (drove a friends w/ it). It's quite boomy and resonant, not throaty and comfortable like the "parallel flow" styles (Magnaflow, UUC, Borla, Milltek). I have the Milltek on my MCS, and am very pleased with it. It's almost no louder versus stock inside the cabin, but it very nice and throaty and quality sounding outside, and the tone quality is much improved. I never hear it over my ALTA w/tube intake, which is loud. My other personal fave is the Magnaflow, and although I have yet to hear the UUC in person, their BMW systems have to-die-for sound quality.

    Hope that helps!
    Ryan
