LiquiMoly CERATEC

i've used this product in other engines, anybody use it in the R53 motor? I'm gonna throw it in tomorrow with my oil change, but wanted to see if anyone had put this in before...

Pretty impressive stuff - it made it all the way to the Discovery Channel.

Be sure to let us know what it does for your engine.

Personally I think that falls into the realm of snake oil. Hope it doesn't harm your engine.

Your mileage may vary...

That's no doubt the best one could hope for.

i'm using it as an extra level of protection for the internal components, not for mileage. i'm sure it wont hurt anything , theres nothing magical of special about a SOHC rocker arm 4 banger with cast bottom end and forged internals that I would worry about specifically, just wanted to see if anyone else was using this in our application.

Is that stuff going to be picked up by the oil filter. How long until the filter plugs & bypasses? Years ago the hot stuff was PTFE (slick 50) & it plugged filters. Your car your call, good luck to you.

Crashton, I think you and I have been around too long and seen too much to accept the magic elixir. But I'm not ready to cash in yet.

If you are using the req'd high quality synthetic oil I see no need to add anything to it. Test your oil before using to see if you even have a problem that needs addressing.
