upgrades!!

im planning on ordering the 15% reduction pulley package, ignition package and exhaust from alta performance for my 06 R53. any problems with these products? can i do better with my money?

its a daily driver but i want some more power and an aggressive growl from the exhaust.

My votes go to Way Motor Works for the pulley package and DDM Works for the intake. I don't know about the exhaust; I just have a one-ball .

The pulley is a 'gotta' upgrade, so definately do that...the vendor choice is up to you. Personally, I run Way's pulley. If you get an Alta, use the smaller belt - not their recommended one - since the bigger one is reputed to slip.

If you need the coil pack due to your stock one being bad/corroded, then go for it. Otherwise, keep the money in your pocket...

My advice on the rest is to decide how much cabin noise/vibration that you wish to tolerate, do some research on the various bits, and then make a decision. Some of the exhaust systems are prone to drone...

Cheers,

I have an alta pulley that i bought used from a member on here. If i were to buy a new pulley i would go wmw. I run the belt that outmotoring sells for the 15% pulley. make sure to get colder plugs too. I'd reccomend the screamin' deamon coil pack too if your stock one is reccomended, it made a big difference on my car. Also, you might think about picking up some new engine bushings from powerflex, as these can be added easily while the engine is out. And check the condition of your intercooler couplers. these are known to crack (especially on the drivers side) i'd replace these with either alta silicon replacements, or m7 silicon replacements. the altas have been on my car for ~ 5,000 miles, and are holding up pretty well.

Just a note on the Alta couplers though, they suck to put on. I had to fight with the drivers side unit for 45 minutes to get it on right. But good thing I put on the bypass valve on at the same time. But like he said the stock units do tend to crack, my drivers side unit had all kinds of small cracks.
