low compression? upgrade time? i think so...

ok, started having misfiring issues yesterday. p0304 on cylinder 4.
i'm thinking it COULD be a bad injector, as the plugs are pretty new, but i'm having a compression and leakdown test performed tomorrow to be positive.

IF it comes back low on any cylinder, i guess it's time for some extensive work... :-/

if thats the case, i want to go ahead and put in some upgrades...
lets say, shooting for 250-260hp, what would I need to do to add that 50hp?

cam of course is planned, not sure where else to go from there... suggestions?

thanks

Jan(RMW) just put out very customizable pistons, get those, new rods(RMW forged), a BV head(a good machine shop can give you a good 7 angle valve job), cam(likely Jan will ahve a custom solution for that), maybe increase the compression to 9.5:1 if your using the stock SC, youll probably need to run race gas if you raise the compression any more than that.

you really dont need to do that much to get 250hp, your really want 300 though, but if you want it at the wheels thats a different story, and then if you want to be able to put that power down it's no small feat. your looking at OSgiken LSD, clutch, flywheel, serious rubber (R-comp) at least to make it manageable.

if you find that one of your valves isnt seating dont go overboard, a whole new head isnt really the answer. But if your anything like me, theres no problem an engine transplant wont fix

lol

what can i say, i like upgrades? hahaha

ok, drove it a bit more tonight, seems to be a tiny bit better.

crusing its nice and smooth, but when you give it any gas, it feels very uneven, if that makes sense. i guess i'll know more tomorrow :-/

I guess it all depends on your budget. But money no object:
RMW stroker (1.8 to be safe)
RMW rotrex supercharger
RMW bv head
RMW cam
RMW tune (of course)
550cc injectors

that should get you up there. i'd get a nice new clutch and lsd while you have the engine pulled, as that will probably be needed. what is your budget, and what mods do you have so far?
