Header question

I have a 05 Mini S that has the typical mods done to it and I am interested in putting some exhausted on the car. But regarding an aftermarket header, can anyone tell me if I should be concerned if the header comes with a flex piece on it or not? I've seen some like OBX that do not have one. I am new to having a performance FWD car and not sure how necessary it is to have one. I am sure there is a slight performance gain without vs having one, although its probably not much. Can anyone share their experience or expertise. Thanks

Without one the header will have better flow since its not corrugated. I had a race header with no flex joint and didn't have any issues. I actually have a vibration now that I went back to stock header....need to sort that

I run the Mynes V2 header it has no flex joint and I have no issues. Flex joints are prone to problems breaking in the flex etc. Mynes uses the donut type flex joint.
