I don't expect a coherent response.

especially after looking over his post history.

Perhaps Alta could run some sort of Summer special where a person could send their turbo in for the rebuild, then Alta sends you back the upgraded turbo with an AP unit for one nice price...

We can bundle parts together if you guys are interested, just give us a call. We aren't able to discount the AP, and probably not much on the turbo, but if you're looking for multiple ALTA parts, we can do something.

What happened to the MAP sensor update? Does the MAF sensor need to be changed as well?

So far we haven't found a way to replace the MAP sensor in the S. We've been able to make about 20 PSI with the new turbo on the S, which gives it a ton of power over the stock turbo. We will be posting up dynos soon.

aren't stock turbos hitting 21 already?

Wouldn't a resistor in the signal wire to the ecu fool the ecu into thinking the boost was less than it is? Pick the right resistor and the ecu would think that 25 psi was 19 psi.

For sure people are and the issue issue is you can't really go way past 20psi. Chris was giving the relative boost people most likely see. Basically 22psi is the actual limit where cut occurs (some variables are there because of ATMP). On MCS's, you really only bump this pressure for a second and the boost falls off. So rarely do customers have the hard boost cut occur.

So when tuning the Billet 56 on our MCS, 20psi is all i felt safe running because it holds boost so much better than the stock turbo that i was constantly bumping off the MAP sensor limit when running 21psi. It appears that there are two limits, one is the boost limit, the other is an internal MAP sensor voltage limit. I can remove the boost limit, but the MAP voltage limit is what i can't. The solution is to add new tables for the JCW maps sensor scaling (or other map sensors), but that is a ways off.

Nope, that is because the sensor stops reading at 22psi~. Adding a resistor messes up load and causes drivablity issues. This is just like installing JCW sensors in the car (lower voltage for same boost) but they don't run well at all with them installed.

If anyone is interested in the turbos, give us a call and we can spill the beans!
