steal or aluminum rims?

Need some info: Can I use steal rims on my mini copper S for winter tires? Some ppl say the brakes are too big for steal rims and the offset is not deep enough. What to do??
Thanks.

I have 15" alloys. They came clearcoated for winter use. There are steelies available for MINIs also. The problem with aluminum is it oxidizes so after running on salted roads, they will start to look pretty ugly. Steal wheels are usually less expensive and don't oxidize.

I got a good deal on the wheels so I got them instead of steelies.

I wouldn't recommend stealing rims.

Thanks.
They will fit, it is the JCW brakes that will not, of course check tirerack for fitment. Really for a little more money I would get some basic aluminum ones. Aluminum rims will dissipate brake heat much better and you do not need hub caps (if you wanted them). Check tirerack.com, they will ship them with tires mounted balanced ready to bolt on. voila!
