Drivetrain Shifter Feel
Yes get a Craven SS. We've installed a bunch of them in 2nd gen MINI's and they work great. Even if you don't adjust it alot shorter the shifter will get rid of the buttery feel the stock shifter has.

Get a Helix SSK, it will shorten the throw without changing the shifter hight and it only costs $45 on their web site. I absolutely love mine. I even had it installed at Helix and still payed less then the Craven SSK.
Another
for the Helix. Had mine fitted 2 weeks ago and a great mod for the money. Helped that it was installed at same time as a Milltek Turboback exhaust so old exhaust was being removed to allow access.
