The numbers from the JCW conversion will surprise you!

If you get stuck or run into trouble, wondering this and that, just ask.

I'm pro Prince engine, because that's where I came to join the mini scene in 2009, however I have bought a Tritec engine, to have a play with that too, yes I know it's been tuned to death, ile have a go just for fun.

If you build any engine correctly the first time, and you've done your homework for the expected power level, then any engine will last for your and it's specific intended use.

I just don't understand why people continue to push the limit of stock standard components, and then complain when their engines breaks!

If anyone is going to modify, then do it right first time, set yourself a goal have the budget and stick to that.

I'm intently watching this thread, lol, though I promised myself I wouldn't do any heavy mods that would degrade the reliability of my MINI..I'm still interested, lol.

i'd be curious to see if you would need JCW sensors with the turbo to handle and read properly the extra flow...

More power than an actual JCW without the price?

Why do you think I am trying to build an R53 CHALLENGE car to my own spec for my own personal use,

Yup....thank the higher compression ratio.

Should be only between 1500-2000 when its all said and done...should have well above 300 ft-lbs to the wheels

And it will look stock

What were your numbers?

I saw a MCSa with JCW turbo being tuned, and the numbers were not very good....pretty sure it had a boost leak though

picked up car last night after they closed.... Going back to change to JCW plugs( for some reason the plugs caused an unsteady idle ,looks like i need a little more tuning). Ill post the dyno graph after i get back from there most likely end of next week.

The R56 JCW and S use the same plugs.

What are they using to tune? Your unsteady idle is all tune related I'd bet...
