Hi!

Just to chime in here - we're working on getting an independent review of the dp/manifold hooked up, as we're quite confident of its performance (and you don't necessarily need another vendor going "blah, blah, blah..."

The Milltek and Quicksilver header / dp are very similar in performance - the Milltek is essentially a copy - no harm there, we compliment them for knowing a good product and producing one themselves.

Note too that, cat back, there are two versions of the Quicksilver - the standard, and one for 200 plus hp applications that is slightly more free flowing (offers about 2-4 more ft/lbs of torque). It is slightly louder than the standard QS, which is known for its mellowness.

Regards,
Ken

Is there a visible difference between the two Cat-back versions of the Quicksilver exhaust? single vs double tailpipe or shape of the muffler? A difference in price?

I have the Milltek header and compared to the London Stainless, the finish is not polished.

RallyPerformance,
Does the Milltech also use Fecralloy material?

The two versions use different internals to the muffler, but the appearance is the same - the tips are still interchangeable. The pricing is the same as well, currently.

The systems aren't actually manufactured in the same place, but the Milltek is much the same design, yes. I can't speak for the Milltek's cat technology.

KC

Greatgro was talking about the technology used in the cat of the Quicksilver to make it extremely efficient - this off our website:

"The original manifold has four short primaries and a restrictive collector followed by two catalytic convertors in series. These catalytic convertors have cores with about 500 cells per square inch (cpsi) giving a flow area of approx 60%. The Quicksilver manifold and Sports Cat has four longer tuned-length primaries followed by a single free-flow Catalytic convertor. This Cat has a microscopically thin Fecralloy metallic core of 200 cpsi to which the essential Platinum and Rhodium are applied at a much greater density (25 grams per cubic foot compared to 10 grams on a typical aftermarket product). This all results in a flow area of approx 85% whilst remaining clean enough to meet emissions requirements."

Regards,
KC

Milltek.
Huh?
Milltek. It's spelled Milltek not Milltech, that's all.

Without getting into too much "neener neener, ours is better than theirs..." the design is much the same between the Milltek and the Quicksilver. Milltek seems to have copied the Quicksilver, which is not a terrible thing... they know a good design when they see one.
