Changing the pulley on an Auto MCS

Hi there,

I've read a lot of instructions for removing the pulley from a manual car however I think there are a few more brackets / attachments on the auto? Does anyone know what else needs to be removed on the auto to jack up the engine?

Thanks,
Crammy

I have heard that there is a bit less room to work....so it is harder to do....not sure if anything is different....

I was told when mine was done that the auto makes it necessary to lift the engine slightly to be able to access the pulley properly. Don't think there are any extra attachments that have to be removed.

I did my auto a few months ago. I thought the same thing but there are no extra brackets, you do not have to remove any cables from the tranny, nothing different from the instructions you find on line. You may need a second floor jack to help line up the engine as you lower it back down on it's mounts. I did.

The job is a lot easier if you remove the 4 16mm bolts that hold the trans mount bracket as well as the one that you normally pull fromt the trans mount. Pull the bracket out or you will scratch the driver's side shock tower paint. It takes a little more time, but it's worth it to give yourself room to work.

Do like Helix said take the extra bolts out the trans mount. It will make it a little easier. The Automatic engine sits toward the pass side about a 1/4 inch further than the manual trans cars.
