Not really. I've been told that the stock airbox is both the quietest (which I belive, of course) AS WELL AS the one which makes the most PEAK POWER (which I don't believe, cos it's impossible).

Regardless, I can see you guys are dug in so there's no point discussing this anymore.

You're wrong, I'm right. Dead horse still dead.

I love Johnny-come-lately's who enter a new community and know everything. You were given excellent advice, yet you still discount it and stick to your own opinion. Jan/RMW has been tuning both generations of MINI's for several years now (you'd know this is if you'd been around for more than a minute). There are not too many people more qualified to give an opinion based on the number of intake combo's he has direct & measurable experience with from his tune sessions.

I'll summarize it for you regardless: PEAK HP may be better with the aftermarket intakes (pick one, since they are mostly noisemakers), but the best and broadest power seems to come from the stock intakes (OEM Cooper S or JCW tuning kit intake).

If you'd like you can read a few other opinions in this thread though: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ir-intake.html

BTW, this is a hilariously ironic quote...

Regardless, I can see you guys are dug in so there's no point discussing this anymore.
given this other statement...

AS WELL AS the one which makes the most PEAK POWER (which I don't believe, cos it's impossible).
Welcome to the MINI community. I'm sure you'll fit in quite well here on NAM.

Ah hah... I see your position is weakening!

Thank you, come again.

NOTHING I have said has been wrong or out of line. You guys SHOULD HAVE put asterisks next to your claims, but refused.

Nope. Evidence: I don't post replies like that.

I'm trying to have a serious discussion, it's you guys that are relying on NAM cannon and lore for your arguments with out incorporating some common sense.

I'm done with this thread. Another personal attack will be reported to the mods. You guys are out of hand.

It was an honest question  Plus it's not actually a personal attack because I didn't actually attack you. I'm just curious because your posts lead to that conclusion.

You're not trying to have a discussion. You asked a question and EVERYBODY told you the same thing. You're just in denial. If you don't believe them, go do your own research.

Don't worry...there's lots of space to hide under the mod's skirts around here.

Looking forward to more of your fascinating insights in your future here on NAM.

Ah, and you guys *had* a fairly decent conversation going. Too bad.

I would recommend that if you're going to be fairly staunch in your position (whichever side of the fence you choose), that you be prepared to back it up with hard evidence (and not just "so and so says so").

Otherwise, be prepared for these kind of arguments.

In addition, it *is* possible to disagree - what works well for you may not work well for or be the preference of someone else.

In conclusion:

You're all welcome to argue your positions. When you get into name-calling and other violations of site guidelines, a mod is certainly going to jump in.

OP, you are also welcome to begin a new thread if you feel your question was not answered. Let's try and hold it together this time, shall we?
