Dinan or Alta

yes, i have done a search...but looking for someone who has experience with both.

nevermind the hp gains it gives, as intakes do not give much;

With which intake will the car rev up more quickly?

neither... lol. or i didnt notice it revving any quicker when i installed mine.. The alta will make your car sound a lot faster though.... without modifying any of the intakes in any way, the Alta is definitely the loudest.

what makes your car rev faster is a lightweight flywheel and to a very very minor extent thinks like a lightweight ati drag pulley (don't get the solid lightweight crank pulleys as they dont dampen)

Another consideration if you live in a smog check state such as California is that the Dinan (closed intake) will pass a smog inspection but an Alta (open intake) will fail the visual inspection.

argeed i have broken a alta crank pully, and i think the alta intake is also louder, i just installed one on a customer's car and its louder than my car.

i have the Dinan intake and love it. noticable sound difference over stock, but not "loud" like the alta. but trust me, with my pulley and the intake, i hear the whine more then my Alta Exhaust.

They are very different....
Dinian is very OEM ish...sounds nice under hard throttle, but nice on a long drive. I love mine. It is an ingenious desgin.
Alta is very aftermarket looking....louder, all the time...
Both have simlar gains....

personally i love mine. Ive had 5+ people on campus that when i say i have a mini there like "oh thats cute, whats it look like" (im not a fan of my car being called cute for some reason.. but if its an attractive girl ill deal with it) and so i tell them its the black one with the checkered rear view mirrors and the 4 lights on the front" and half the time they go "are you the one with that RIDICULOUSLY loud supercharger? (this of course only happens when i talk to guys or on the rare occasion (once) a girl knew what a SC was and what it sounded like...) one of my friends also commented that if you take the missing exhaust note out of the equation that the film he took from inside of my car where you couldn't see the interior, just the road. that if he didnt know better he would have though by the sound on the video that he was inside a cobra.)

(its a good thing to note that i have a reduction pulley a new SC bp valve and the VGS installed)
