Riss Racing Stage 1 BOV - Power Loss - HELP
I recently purchased and installed a Riss Racing MCS Sequential Stage 1 BOV along with a DDMWorks R56 Race Intake System on my 2007 MCS. I bought both from someone on NAM that had them installed on their car for about a month before they removed the parts to sell the car stock. After the installation I could immediately feel a difference in the power - the car pulled very strong. I drove it pretty hard for about 20 miles and then parked the car for dinner. Two hours later when I was driving home I could tell the car was not behaving the same. I am not sure if it was immediate, or if it was after some more driving, but it was not pulling very hard anymore and it was "limp" from 4,000 on. I checked all of the hoses and fittings to ensure everything was still sealed and it appears they are. Any thoughts what could be the problem?
Do you have a check engine light appearing on the speedo? I'm betting your MAF sensor got oiled up from the oiled filter in the DDM RIS. This will cause a P115D code. When that code appears on my R56 the boost is usually cut to around 3psi max. Use MAF cleaner to solve the problem.
