Drivetrain HOW TO HOOK UP MY MINI COOPER S
Is there a 2007 Cooper S M series ? I saw this car at the parking lot and this guy told me is a special series for 2007 cooper S. He said it has a bigger engine and run faster. Is that true ? Is there such M series cooper S? There badges is Blue/Pink and Letter M. It looks like the BMW M3 badges.
James, i searched for your post about the SSRs but i can't find it. So you did a lug conversion and then bought your wheels as if they were going on a cobalt ss?? That is super cheap for those wheels btw!
I got mine free from SSR

Look under a base 2 door cobalt at tire rack
Update looks like tirerack sold out of ssr, they have some

also, since this is the "help" thread, seems anything goes, so here goes another question!!
I'm about to install all at once: Koni yellows, nm springs, nm rear sway, and now i'm looking for the best endlink(opinions?)
What else should i be looking toward to complete this suspension setup. camber/control arms? any bushings??
Thanks for all the help,
Jordan

alta sells the endlinks for up to 50% off then paint them black the nm endlinks are a ripoff at retail price, get hotchkis lower control arms(the only controlarms that come with zerk fittings, nm has nice ones but want over 600 a pair) way motor works has lower shock bushings for $20,get some powerflex suspension and front swaybar bushings from way when you buy the shock bushings.

Let's clarify some stuff...
There are basically two ways to tune your car.
You can buy the Stage I tuning kit directly from Mini. It's approx 1600-1800 bucks, comes with a CAI and exhaust. You'll have roughly 300 bucks in installation. (the tune MUST be installed by the dealer, the CAI and exhaust can be done DIY)
The second way to tune your car is getting an aftermarket tune. The leading company in tunage right now is RMW. The tune is roughly 700 bucks and for an add'l 400'ish, you can soon buy a tool that will allow you to switch between the stock tune and the RMW tune should you decide to turn the car in for warranty for instance. (it is NOT mandatory to buy the tool, you can just keep the RMW tune and not switch back and forth)
My opinion... RMW tune. I did the Stage I on my MCS last year, it was a decent tune but did come with a CAI and exhaust (the exhaust is superb)
This year I installed an RMW tune on my JCW and still bought a JCW tailpipe.
Hope that clears that up.

Jcw strut brace will net 20 extra whp
m7 hood scoop will net 5 extra whp
nm engineering or alta intake will net 20 extra whp
alta or nm engineering rear controlarms will net 25 extra whp
Riss Racing ,Alta or M7 catch can will net 15 whp and if
catch cans from all 3 companies are installed a net gain of
45 whp because the coolness/eyecandy effect will triple the whp gain
velocity booster will net 50 whp
The stage 5 package listed above was tested on a buttdyno and will give your car a total net gain of 175 whp and the coolness/eyecandy effect rating will be unlimited .

you are not going to get 20 WHP with just a nm engirnerring or alta intake
i have a friend whose alta intake gave him many problems. PLUS if you want to here the nice sound, the alta or nm doesnt give it as good as DOS.
just telling you from experience

DO YOU HAVE BLONDE HAIR ?
Hello DoS customers,
LittleBlueBeast, meet JamesHunt. JamesHunt, meet LittleBlueBeast.
JamesHunt, seems like LittleBlueBeast should note your keen (often hilarious) sense of sarcasm and dislike of the butt dyno. Hard numbers talk & BS walks!
LittleBlueBeast, I'm glad that you like the CAI. Definitely take your car to a dyno day some time. That way you'll be able to see what your mods are gaining for you. (Also, JamesHunt has tried out a many a part on his R56 JCW and would most definitely offer advice based on his experiences.)
Play nice now, Gentlemen!

Go ahead and ship me one too. Whatever it is....intercooler?
PM'ing you now. . .
No blabbing . . .
Sounds like James passed you a note via PM. I'm trying to keep this one on the DL until it's had more time on the dyno and on the street. No need to formally announce anything until DoS knows that it can deliver.
I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about.
Mark
