Drivetrain getting ready to upgrade
getting ready to upgrade
Just wanted some good advice and things to know about upgrading the mini. I have a 2004 MCS. Im look at pulleys, intakes, front and rear links, ect. It looks like ALTA is the way I am going to go, but Ill take any advice I can get. Thanks!
First you need to determine how you are going to use the car and what is your budget. Street driven, auto-x, or track days or maybe a combination of all three. You also need to think about the compromises you will accept such as more noise or a rougher ride. You will need to work out a plan so that the parts will work together, especially if your budget requires mods to be made over a period of time. For example, the size of a rear sway bar will be dependent on whether or not you add camber plates. The pulley size is a little dependent on how how plan to drive the car. There is also a limit to what engine mods you should do unless you get an ECU tune and larger fuel injectors. Also many aftermarket parts do not add much benefit and may not be worth adding so your money can be better spent on other items.
A place like WMW can help you develop a plan to spend your money wisely.
