I searched and couldn't find answers for some of my questions.

Are you glad that you bought an Alta Intake?

How long did it take you to install and did you find it to be difficult?

Is the power boost significant?

Does it void the warranty? If so, does it void the entire warranty, or just on the actual intake? If it does void the warranty, are there any alternate intakes that don't void it? (I s'pose you can take it off before taking it to the dealer).

Thanks a lot guys

If you are Worried about the warrenty, The Pilo Racing Intake installs in about 10 minutes, and performs just as well as the Alta. Pilo is 7 hp Alta is about 8 hp

It is also about 100 dollars Cheaper.

Can be bought frouwww.outmotoring.com or www.webbmotorsports.com

Thanks

30 minute install. Here is the How to (give it awhile to load):

>>Is the power boost significant?
Yes, more so if you have pulley and upgraded flow through exhaust.

In general intakes don't void warranty for the engine. Not a problem. The alta hose is supposed to help with smooth air flow and is used with a rebored or enlarged throttlebody. The Alta intake is sold with and without the hose. It is true that for less money the Pilo intake will perform well.

Final comment- for those interested in the Alta please do read the how to install instructions at Webbmotorsport.com and see how complicated it is compared to the easy install of the Pilo or Madness airbox/intake. Then decide.

Yes, I love the sound it makes, how it looks and the extra power.

>>How long did it take you to install and did you find it to be difficult?

I didn't install mine, Randy from Webb Motorsports did, so it took hardly any time at all. But the process was fairly straight forward and would be quite easy to do yourself. Take a look at the HOWTOs for more info.

>>Is the power boost significant?

Hard to say since I the intake was installed along with a pulley. But from the reading I've done intake mods help a lot, especially at lower RPMs.

The warranty is not voided directly. Like all 3rd party mods, the warranty is only voided if the modification(s) that were made cause something to break; the chance of something breaking as the result of an intake are quite remote.

I bought the Alta Intake without the extra hose from OutMotoring for $199.95. This was the first mod I did to my 04 mcs. Install fairly easy although took my time due to first time working on it. Took about 1 hour, could do it now in about half that. Hardest part was not knowing how far I had to pull out the tabs that hold the two connectors that go to the ecu. They come our 2/3 of the way pretty easy, have to pull harder to get the last third out. Like the sound, can feel the difference and, with the Magnaflow installed a week later, IT KICKS. Next the pulley then think I'll cool it for awhile.
