Drivetrain Please... Someone talk some sense/insanity into me!
Ok, Im going to the pulley party in december! YAY! Ive noticed that Randy gives a bit O Dee price break on getting the ECU done at the same time.... I have my Intake ready to go on and was planning on getting a Magnaflow exhaust when I get my car out of the body shop...
My head is now swirling with the thought of getting the ecu popped when I go down to get my pulley. Money is ALMOST an issue, but I think I could squeak/scam by if I had to. It would be better if I didnt, but....
I have committed myself to the pulley and the exhaust, a gift to my beloved car for her near death experience with a Dodge(ironic name) Caravan. As I said I have the PILO intake ready for her too. Should I go crazy and get the ECU whilst Im down with Randy? Should I not be a greedy *** and just be happy with the Pulley, intake and exhaust? Should I learn to make my own decisions and not rely on the advice of others? Should I send that inflatable goat back since it broke in only 3 days??
Bring forth the reason/insanity if you will.

Get the ECU but don't send back the inflatable goat. You'll hate yourself in the morning and a good tyre patch kit should take care of the goat problem.

Thanks, that struck me as really funny...........only send the inflatable goat back if you were using it for it's intended purpose, after all, anything can be broken.
Go for the whole ball of wax with MINI. If you don't you'll do it later and pay more....probably.

The rational person would say- what do you need 10-12 HP more for? Something that works across the rpm band and smoothes out throttle response. Something that is fine tuned for the upgrades that your have as the ECU controls nearly everything about the engine management.
The practical person would say- hey a discount for both at the same time? And if done then and there, then no additional cost of mailing the laptop for installing the software later? And the powerchip Webb software is fairly mature and well tweeked at this point-only aspect is that over time the price will drop but then you don't get to enjoy it.
Your fellow MCS owners would SHOUT-
Get the ECU. Find a way to fund it. You will not regret your inability to resist the inevitable.
Next question please.

Patch the Goat! Why don't they make them out of runflat materials!

You need more insanity than normal?

You will absolutley love the pulley. If you can muster up a little self discipline (not likely with the goat thing and all) wait for better financial times for the ECU.
1. There is still more development going on. (more possible options)
2. You can still get it anytime and the savings of getting it with the pulley is not that great.
3. You can tell just how much difference the pulley made and then the ECU
4. Where did you get the goat?????

Couldn't find a goat, but sheep are readily available:

I'd go for the pully / ECU way before the pully / exhaust. I'd give serious thought to waiting on the exhaust and going for the ECU upgrate. Right now I have the intake, pully and ECU. I'm still waiting on the "right" exhaust solution. My dyno results are just a hair off those with the exhaust.

I've did the headers, exhaust, throttle body, ignition, and intake prior to the pulley and ECU, so I was ready to go with all of my first phase of mods as soon as Randy worked his magic. I recommend doing the pulley and ECU together, and I think you should do these items first if time and money are issues. You will be damn glad you did both. Your wolf in sheep's clothing will then eat those lambs and goats.
Thanks for all the input people. First things first. The inflatable Goat was a replacement for my inflatable Llama. It's just not fair, my Llama and my MINI in the shop at the same time... I never liked that Goat anyway... It whistled under WOT
Now that we have gotten the important issue out of the way.
So lets see, so it boils down to;
1. Get the ECU flash or burn in hell with my inflatable farmyard friends
2. Get the pulley and the exhaust and be happy with intake exhaust and pulley + wait and see what happens in the ECU realm
3. Get the ECU, Screw the Exhaust ( and the goat) and be happy with pulley/ecu/intake
4. Patch the Goat with a tire kit, or find a better quality one that is constructed by Dunlop or atleast can talk.

Ok good news... I just got off the phone with AirpoweredFarmlovemachine.com and they said that they would upgrade my goat to the newest version that has the different "exhaust" and the stumble issue was fixed, OR, I can get a Pony and a Pie. I went with the Pony and Pie.
Ok, Im starting to think that Im going to go 2/3'ds on this. So, pulley and intake are in the bag. What would make more sense, Exhaust or ECU... Im from the old school of forced induction, I.E. when you pump up the boost you HAVE to free up the intake and exhaust... But this aint da ole school anymore...
BTW Nuvolari, That love lamb sure looks soft and purty
oh, and I HAVE a g-friend already, am I supposed to forsake my goat for her??

MrWhoa,
If I were in your shoes, I'd go pulley and ecu. Future updates to WebbMotorsports ecu flash are included. The only new charges would be for the switching option, etc... (spoke to Randy about this already). Then I would do the stock exhaust mod. If you change out the tips on the stock exhaust you can get it to look like anything you want until you get a new system.
After I get the pulley and ecu in December, I will probably move on to ignition and be finished. I already have intake, exhaust, suspension, etc completed.
This thing is turning into an obsession!!!!
I had some friends give me a blow-up sheep for my birthday one year. Funny how that thing disappeared after the party..............
Soon after that, Goat-Boy started showing up on SNL!!!!
Genetic engineering you ask???? Or is it just good 'ole in-breeding techniques???
