So would a weak BPY case my throttle to less 'twitchy' then my buddies '05 MCS ? Mine is an '03 w/ 82k and his has 65kish.

Also, i have a boost gauge and i hit 15psi at 4500. At 2500 it is still down around 7-8 @ WOT.

Sound normal ?

If you have 82k miles and never changed the BPV, it is malfunctioning to some degree. Change it asap.

Is there a DIY thread for the BPV replacement?

Quote: Yep. With a 15% pulley, you should be able to make 14-15psi boost. if the BPV is broken an always open, you'll make almost NO boost. If it's not closing all the way, you'll make partial boost, but won't get close to 15psi.

If the spring is just weak, you'll have to get to high RPMs/load before boost really kicks in, and you'll be unable to hold the boost steady around 7-8psi - it will "yo-yo" up and down as the valve oscillates.
Seems like mine is sticking right on 10 psi boost maximum.

Vote for replace?
or let it be?

With your 15% pulley you should be making around 14psi, i would say replace bpv.

Here's a link to the DT BPV install instructions at Helix - the OEM procedure is the same.

$78.95 at Classic BMW which is a NAM vendor. That includes the NAM member discount. (Mention it in your first email)
I just ordered mine 5 minutes ago.

I definitely like the changes with the dtbpv... the car just wants to go.. less likely to stall in 1st and makes transitioning seem easier...
