Drivetrain B&M shifter differences
B&M shifter differences
Does anyone know the visual differences between the 02-03 shifter housing and the 04-06 shifter housing?
I bought a B&M short shifter recently for the 02-03 model but my car is an 04. However i assumed that the early model B&M was for the early transmission, which i have. My car is a March build 04
anyway i just wanting to see what the visual differences were so that im no trying to install the wrong part

well the only visual difference is that the ball housing is white or grey. mine is a 04 march build with the white housing. i bought a b&m shifter for the 02-03 models and tried installing it but failed... but i kept the bushings
yeah thats exactly what i did, I too have a march build 04. I did find out that the housing in the early models are white with a grey bushing thing and the newer models have a black housing with a white bushing thing
the more i think back from the "install" i remember the only difference is the reverse linkage housing. my reverse linkage was a lot bigger than the b&m shifter reverse housing. so... i guess thats the physical difference
do you guys know if the b&m bushings would work with the cravenspeed ssk? i've had the craven in for about 2 years and it's better than stock, but is still spongey, loose and not the flick of the wrist, tight feel (like the honda s2000 or porsche boxster with a schnell ssk - absolute perfection!).
will the bushings from the 02-03 kit work in an 05?
