Does anyone know if the Clubman exhuast is 2 can's or 1 with 2 tips...

What would Riss do? 1 tip? or 2?

Hi guys,

this is Adam here at Riss Racing. I can help along the lines of answering questions for the community as well. In regards to the muffler setup, we would follow the same characteristics of the car if it works the best. If the body has 2 mufflers, we would most likely do the same type of setup to keep the harmonics equal. Of course, free flowing systems will yield more power, so we'll definitely opt to maximize the power output as much as possible. Relay the message over to the Clubman community and we'll see if we can get a test car within a few weeks! We'll keep this thread on topic with the Cooper S to make sure we can answer any questions the community has. Thank you guys!

Is Riss planning on using single or double walled tips? (*crossing fingers for double walled*)

You may be happier than you think =)

We have plans to test a few different tip options, inc. (double walled/single slant/CF/titanium) If all goes well, everybody may be able to have their own option for the system they purchase! We'll release more information later this week.

We are eagerly waiting for the next big post guys!

Question. If you're pondering the idea of interchangable tips without welding or hose clamps, won't you have some type of potential vibration issue without totally welding the tips on? I'm just fishing though theoretical things but don't really have experience with this multiple tip concept.

I don't think the OEM tips are welded. The shorter tips were installed at the last service under warranty due to the 'fried leg skin' problem people were having. I didn't see them do the work, but I assume they just switched out the tips.

Oh yes I know OEMs are not welded, but rather just pondering ideas to make tips modular with ease.

lets try that again.

Hello Adam

My last post makes me look as though I write ebonics

What causes the droning? I like what you guys are putting together but have a aftermarket exhaust that causes droning at 4,000 rpms. In the city it does not bother me but when i took the car to Vegas I thought I was going to shoot myself. My ipod could not drown out the noise. How do you prevent this.

Took video of the Mini Cooper exhaust, fully catless. Sounds amazing. We are doing some editing on the video for the next few days. I think you guys will really enjoy the video!

Hi Kidshark,

The resonator size and location will play a crucial part in the resonance inside the cabin. We've decided to use a great designed straight through resonator for the front section of our R56 exhaust to be swapped out for a fully catless section. 2ndary cats will also help with the drone issue.

Hi guys,

We're really considering the Ti Tips for the Mini Exhausts. We think this may give a very good look to the back of the car. We are considering a few different options. Single walled slant cut 3.5" tips (Titanium style) and double walled straight cut 3.5" tips (Polished). We will check on our coater to see if we can just coat the tips and leave the entire canister polished.
