Transmission upgrades

So, I would like to fit my tranny with a LSD but while I am in there I was wondering if anyone makes parts to regear the tranny. I have an 03s. I would like to bring my RPM's down on the freeway, 3000+ is just to high for my likeing, I was thinking of getting it around 2200 in sixth going 75-80mph. any help from anyone would be great.

I was looking around for alternate gears as well about 3 years ago to get a close gearing ratio on my '02 box. Nothing available at that time, so I put in the close ratio box (with LSD) that is specified for the '05-'06 MCSs. In all of my aftermarket searching, I have not to this day run into any gear kits for the MINI.

The early model transmission has the tallest gear ratio to begin with. The only aftermarket gear option I'm aware of is offered by helix13 http://www.helix13.com/mini/products/suspension-chasis and this is a shorter final drive; not what you're looking for. 22k rpm in sixth would be hard on components. This car has a sweet spot for low effort cruising and it is a little above 3k.

Not cheap guys!

Cusco Diff seams to be the best right now. Mini Mania has them http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMG1004/InvDetail.cfm

Added, ... sorry, I now see OP wants highway gears, not performance.

The 6 speed auto cruises pretty well at just 2000 rpm (60 mph) in 6th.

I do remember seeing these, but at that price, a brand new close ratio OEM tranny (with LSD)was alot cheaper. (unfortunately not what Mokomini is looking for)
