Drivetrain Rogue/Madness short shifter kit
Ok...got it on finally. After struggling with trying to take the cable joint off the ball without destroying anything, it went back together without a hitch. Once the three set screws were tightened and the shrink wrap put on, it appeared and felt like a unified piece of the shifter. The instructions didn't mention any lubrication but I put some of that sticky blue grease left over from the sway bar install. Conclusion, excellent bang for the buck ($60+shp). Reduces throw by 20%...that means in real world, shortening the normal 6+ inches of travel from first to second to around 4 inches. Take a little getting used to as I tend to want to push it farther that it will go now. Relaxing on the shifter helps a lot. I like the fact that the shift is still up high where I can easily reach it in a hurry unlike the BM's shorter/lower **** position. That's subjective taste, however. I highly recommend it. Just can figure out how a little piece of machined metal cost so much
My wife couldn't believe that I was under the car for nearly two hours with the exhaust and everything off just to install this little two and half inch piece of metal

I got mine a few months ago and love it too.
A ask a frined to help me, I was fun to see my friend, a dentiste, under my car getting geasy and with cramps in his arms, I KNOW IS AN EASY INSTALL, but i told him he had to hold the miffler until I finish, jajajaja, was funny for like 5 minutes then he just let go.

thanks for the post and comments.
Any picture of your setup?
What do you think about the more pricey Alta short shifter with variable 0 to 40% adjustment.
You mentioned you had 20% but do you think that 30 or 40 would be any better? Too low? Or does it depend on the shift **** used? Did you use your stock ****? Some short shifters require an aftermarket **** after the installation of the upgrade.
Here's an example. You use your stock **** and reduce the shifter by 20% or you use an aftermarket **** that stands a bit taller longer and reduce the shifter by 40% so that the hand lies close in either scenario.
thanks for the post and comments.

thanks for the write up silver.
i have had b&m short shifters on all my other cars (usally 40-60 bucks) and cant fathom the idea of paying so much for the b&m mini shifter. thus i wanted the one you got, the madness one. but i dotn want stock height and reduced throw. i want short height AND reduced throw.
i guess i have to end up cutting it..sigh..something i have never done on a car.
uuc shift **** for me...i like the short stubby look..fits my personal physique
