R53 Plug and Play ECU

To say this has been a long project (2 yrs) is an under statement and how Jay and Mike have stayed with it is beyond me, espically as they dont own a Mini (they do now).

There is still a way to go and a lot of testing to do, but the future is bright the future is a Mynes ECU.

Enjoy these videos:

Video 1 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oqRVFv...eature=related

Video 2 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TsEQqw...eature=related

- product is still in the testing phase, it will be a few more months at least before we will release to the public.
- When it's release, the MEMS will be 100% tested and bug-free.
- Price structure "to be determined", but it will be very competitive
- Production units of the MEMS will fit inside the engine bay enclosure and will be the same size as the stock ECU.
- Mike and Jay want to pass on the progress of this project so people know that they are making great progress.
-Please do not call the shop as the more time they have the quicker it'll get done

Also interested, but only if it uses a redundant e-gas MCU, and allows for laptop-adjustable mapping/enrichments/settings with a realistically usable GUI, and closed-loop wideband O2 with AFR targeting.

I heard in the long video something about "sending proper CAN messages". That sounds like genuine progress. Does this mean fuel level, coolant temp, and RPM gauges work just like stock? How about OBDII; any chance for emission-checked states?

Hey Paul,

So at this point in the 2 year development it starts, idles and runs the gauges. Is there more your not showing us Paul?? How many months are we talking before we see a production unit. It appears there is still a lot of work to do.

I for one would love a stand alone.

Longboard

Undortunatley I'n not there and I'm not that intelligent so I'll only answer what I can.

Yes all functions guages speedo abs etc etc will work as normal, this is a true plug and play.

In theory I 'll be having one sent to me here in the UK to use early part of 09, I would love it to be Xmas day because I could defintley say it would be the best toy / present I've ever had.

I cant wait..........

For those of you lucky enough to be going to SEMA, Mike and Jay will be there on a stand and I'm sure would love to talk to you.

FYI: The R56 MCS uses a similar MCU in its OEM ECU. If Mynes has the ability to develop their own code and gather the right hardware and software tools support, stopping at just the MINI would be a shame. If what they're doing comes through like it sounds like, it's no small feat.

Darn, I hope this project doesn't turn the way of the Hydra semi-functional-but-buggy-and-crashes-like-Windows disappointment.

They are currently refining the software and should have the first prototypes out for beta testing in the new year.

I was hoping to find one under the Xmas tree this year

I WOULD hold my breath for it. They have done some tuning on my car on my past and I would NOT hesitate to work with them again. They have been working on the full stand alone for a while and I would defiantly trust it to be fully functional. Their work with other vehicles is very acclaimed all over the world!!

You can see in the video that it is a functional stand alone ECU that is far beyond the hydra IMO.

Best wishes to Mynes.
