First let me say that i know street racing is not condoned by many of you and i can appreciate and respect that opinion. I understand that it can be dangerous and is considered childish, which i can again understand. that being said I do find myself giving in from time to time.
-Last night me and my wife were coming back from grocery shopping. not the normal grocery shopping but the kind where you go buy everything because youve run out of everything. I had the backseats flopped down and the car stuffed with delicious nummies. I weigh around 200 lbs and my wife is probably around 140 ( i like em a little meaty -hope my wife doesnt see this ) anyways i estimate that i had around 500+ lbs in the mini. Now we were almost home i had just got off the highway and a 80-something montecarlo was on my butt the whole way. i made the left onto our street ( 55 mph road ) and he took the outside lane. He immediately gunned it. He had your standard hillbilly deluxe straight pipes and some fat white letter tires. --now normally i have a hard time finding anyone besides slow hondas and acuras to race me--so i was excited. he beat me by well over a car and a 1/2 however. Now i know the mini is not a drag car but i like to think mine is pretty quick. at the stop light we stopped at after the 1/2 mile race he kept revving his rediculously loud and bad sounding exhaust. I was beat and felt robbed due to all the excess weight i had in the car. I ALSO feel robbed due to not having a Jan tune.
Back in May, Jan told me that he would be coming to mid-ohio for Lemans and would tune there sometime in July. well July has come and gone and no sign of RMW.
I wonder if the result would have been the same with an empty car and My Tune.
Any news on a tune in ohio Jan ???
anyways i figured id share the story and try to get an answer from RMW about my tune. Im ready too. I have the pulley and exhaust and injectors and RMW cam and all that good stuff i just need something to bring it all together.
