Dinan

I installed the Dinan on Ms. Kensington two weeks ago... and it was just what I wanted. No loud sucking noise.. just pure super charger whine with some growl above 3,000 rpm. Install was easy, it took me just over an hour and I'm no wonder under the hood.

- On a dyno the Madness will give you a few extra hp high up in the rpm range. On the street it will also suffer more from heat soak b/c it's metal, which should take away a few hp.

- Madness has a reusable filter, with the Dinan you either need to keep buying new ones or buy a reusable filter.

- Madness will be much louder... supercharger whine + sucking + whistling

For most people it comes down to price and sound preference. FWIW, Jan at RMW likes the JCW which is more similar to the Dinan. I've gone from stock to Alta, to Alta with hose + lid, to DDM with Alta hose, to the JCW without the flap and oem hose. The JCW is my overall favorite. Given your choices I'd go with the Dinan.

Yes, there is an ITG one that you can get from Minspeed.

K7N probably makes something that fits also.

I love my madness intake, but like they said it is pretty loud. if you want to hear your SC more then the madness, plus their cowl mod is the way to go.

Dinan, love the sound and stock look, easy to intall. Dinan always makes nice products, as said before the only downside is the filter, but it looks like Im going to get on of those ITG, I just need to find the part number to see If I can find one cheaper than $85

K&N Makes a filter for the DINAN. Part number RU-1480. I have it in my DINAN. Works fine.

I like my DINAN intake. I cannot hear a louder sound from the actual filter, but I have noticed the supercharger gain a little bit of a growl. Performance is negligible

Or you can order the filters directly at the K&N web site.

Hi guys,
I just removed the OEM filter and replaced it with an ITG filter. I also worked on the JCW CAI so that the flap is always open but the result is not as expected (not looking for performance), the whine sound is not as loud as I thought it would be. I would like to keep the JCW CAI so maybe any of you tryed a louder filter in the past, is the Madness filter louder than the ITG?.

Way sells or was selling last I checked, Dinan filters. Also, although you can't buy the Dinan intake from Dinan anymore they are still selling the filters, I bought one recently from them. As far as after market CAI go they all produce nearly identical performance, the only differences you may notice is the sound produced, if you get off on the "whine" then get one that produces more whine.

I've had both on my car. Didn't notice a sound or performance difference, but I much prefer the cleaner look of the Dinan.

You had the ITG air filter and didn't notice any difference once you installed the Madness air filter?. I have the ITG and I am looking for switching to a louder option without removing the JCW Cai. What about the Madness Cowl mod?
