OPINIONS...Ultrik intake

Who has one and how do you like it? Mini Mainia has a sale right now for $99.00 for the intake dont think i can go wrong for that price. Any input would be appreciated.

I've got one. Sounds incredible. I too removed the plastic partition. One thing to note. It comes with a plastic piece that pops out to allow a certain brand strut bar to run across it. Not sure which one it is, but more than likely it'll just stay in place. However, if you have a M7 strut bar, then you need to install the intake and lay the bar across the way it is going to be mounted. You then have to make marks on the rubber seal that runs down the intake. You have to cut that section out to allow the M7 bar to be successfully mounted. If you have no strut bar, then no worries. Again, for the money, it's worth it. Later on you can add an after market hose to the TB.

I have one too. It was like $150 (on sale!) back in 04. I also cut 2.5 inches hole in the plastic partition. The SC whine became more audible. I will try to replace the cone with ITG or Alta foam. The stainless steel polished finish of the metal heat shield is still looking good after 4 years.

When I ordered mine, you could opt. to get a K&N filter for a little "extra" money. I just got the standard one. It has no name, so if this bothers you, I'd go on ahead and buy a K&N filter or the likes. Check out J.C. Whitney. They have a cone filter by Vibrant Racing that is really nice and cost only $20. I put it on my wife's Injen CAI after that filter needed to be replaced.

My wife will be back in town on Monday. She has the camera, so I'll try and get some picks on Monday. That way you can see what I meant about the strut bar.

what else is out there for around 200.00 i have looked at the alta and it is a nice piece but i think way over priced. I came from the VW world where performance parts are half what they are in the mini world.
