Drivetrain Tyres, to change or not to change
Tyres, to change or not to change
Alright, I knew the S (in my case an 06) had a choppy ride, but its a bit over the top for my liking, I have heard that changing out the tyres (in my case Runflats on 17 inch rims) will cure the problem. Can anyone shed some experienced light on the situation? I have basically brand new Runflats on the car and the ride is a bit unbearable. I live in the UK and drive lots of small back routes thus my roads are not that smooth. I would change out the tyres if there would be a decernible difference.
Any folks change them out and have an experience to tell me about? I would be much appreciative. I do realize i would have to carry a can of fix a flat and some luck to ride w/o runflats.
Many thanks. Peter

The combination of 17" wheels and runflats will give a choppy ride every time. Regular tires will considerably reduce the noise, but you may still find the ride a bit choppy with the 17" wheels. Switching to 16" or even 15" wheels will provide the biggest relief.
This seems an obvious question but would other size wheels bolt right on? I am just wondering if different models would have different sized hubs, I would be willing to bet not but always good to ask.
Many thanks. Peter
