Drivetrain Superchargers
Not a good idea unless you plan to change pistons... your non s is a high compression engine... adding a SC will give you more compression than you want...an S engine has about 8.3 compression ratio while the non S is 10.something.

This info is good to know. I'm new to this game. Thank you!
Hate to cut to the chase like this, but if you're new to the game...don't attempt it.
You're looking at tens to hundreds of hours in labor, and thousands to tens of thousands in costs.
For reference, an Eaton M45 unit (new) is in the $2500+ range.
Better just to buy the Cooper S engine at $7k or so. But then why not just buy a used Cooper S....

It certainly is cheaper and easier to just buy a MCS than to mod the MC ....BUT...He does have a solid gold MC and you cant get that in a MCS
Modifications are awesome, but costly. I'm working on a 6-speed now since my transmission is about to die. Just do things in stages if anything else; that's what I'm doing. I couldn't afford for the car to be down for very long, so it's one thing at a time. Anything is possible with money...just make a plan, try to stick to it and be patient.
My Plan (long term):
My Plan (long term):
- 6-speed
- Wheels/tires (lighter)
- Suspension overhaul
- Exterior mods (paint etc)
- Shortblock with 9.0/9.5 compression
- Head/cam
- Turbo/tune
- Dancing and thanking my wife for not divorcing me

Good plan...
but start with number 8, then do the rest of the stuff. Trust me on this one.

Totally off topic....
but I was at a Media event the last couple of days, and Griggs was there with one of the new GR-40s. This one with the newest suspension and a blower. Some "hot shot" who thought he knew how to drive came out of turn 3 too hot, lifted and ended up going backwards into a tire wall. End of the GR-40 for the day. First time ever that someone trashed a car at the Western Automotive Journalists media events.... Don't know what will happen and it's totally sad as it was the first time Griggs was there. Save your pennies, the Griggs stuff really transforms the car. After adding it to my mustang, I'd say it's a better improvment than more power....
