I was wondering if any body has installed the
"Oil Cooler conversion kit" from MOSS?

This kit will add an Oil cooler for the MINI
Way back when, I had a '72 MGB that had one installed from the factory, and I installed one on my '79 MGB (after market).

I know that these little engines RUN!, back in the '70's it kinda made sense to keep the oil cool.

TIME WARP: our little MINI engines RUN also, but in todays technology with
synthetics, is it really needed? ( out side the track).
Also is there an advantage to the retro "Cardrige" oil filter?
The MOSS kit converts it to a spin on.
I know that there are differences between spin on filters, If you run synthetic's
need to get to the right one.

I thought the mcs has an factory oil cooler ....I might be wrong though...

 

there is a tiny little water-cooled heat exchanger mounted on the oil fliter base on the stock S

 

I've seen in a Euro Tuner magzine an ad for BMP Design that has a heat sink that wraps around the oil filter canister. I'd love to get one, but their website hasn't proved very useful in finding the part. It's basically a sleeve of aluminum with fins with an anodized finish.. available in blue, red and silver. Just a matter of finding the right one, if it exists.
